Self Portrait Project ❤

Alright, this is my final project of the school year. This project was drawing a self portrait of myself and then splitting the drawing into quadrants. In each quadrant, I had to use different mediums. I was pretty excited for this project, I originally was going to have a picture of myself in a really cute outfit and a flower crown, but I have been very busy recently with all the activities I was in. At the last minute, I took a picture of myself which I personally love. So after I drew myself and split the picture into quadrants, I had to decide on the mediums I should use.

I had so many different ideas on what I could use; chalk, acrylic paint, oil paint, watercolor paint, ink, oil pastel, pen, charcoal, all the possibilities were endless. Sadly I could only use four. After a lot of thinking I deciding to use these mediums. On the top left I used chalk. The top right is acrylic paint. The bottom left is oil pastel. Finally, the bottom right is ink.

This project took me about two weeks to finish, and overall I like it. I would have to say the acrylic paint was a big pain in the butt. One day I was trying to make the right skin color, but I just couldn't get it right. In the end though, it turned out alright. My favorite medium that I used is for sure the oil pastel. I just love how beautiful and smooth my hair looks. My second would be ink. This was the first time that I ever painted with ink. Personally I don't think I did a bad job. I'm just surprised on how well the skin color looks, and that was what I was the most afraid of. After that it's a tie between the acrylic ink and the chalk. Don't get me wrong I don't hate them, but I can't really choose which one was better.

I had a lot of fun with this project. It has helped me experiment with different mediums and use them in new ways.

Water Photo ❤

I wasn't really sure what I was going to do for my water photo. I was originally going to do a water droplet on a fake flower or some regular flowers, but I just didn't have the time to or how exactly I would do it. Then my dad gave me the idea of taking a picture of the crick. I really liked that idea, so dad and I went out and drove to one of our cricks during the evening. I really like this picture because it seems peaceful in a way. The colors look toned down and yet the water looks so pretty. Water has always fascinated me in a way. I have always liked water ever since I was little. Water is definitely another beautiful thing about nature and life itself.

Mode of Transportation Photo ❤

I thought that posting a picture of the scout would be a really cool photo for a mode of transportation. This little vehicle can be use for multiple things. Of way we use the scout is by placing corn cobs in the scout and driving the scout back to an area where my family is husking and cleaning the corn. It's definitely a lot easier than having to constantly walk.

It's also used for pure entertainment. Two years ago my brother and I drove this little guy around grandpas place when we were recovering from getting our wisdom teeth token out. My brother and I had a blast on the scout! There was also a time around the end of February when my brother and his friends were over at our place and we all rode the scout around my family's place. One of my brother's friends (his name is Jacob) wanted to see if he could outrun the scout, so he gets out of the scouts and runs like crazy. However, the scout beat him and we ended up passing, leaving him in the dust. I thought that was hysterical!

I would love to ride this again with my brother and his friends, maybe even with my boyfriend too. I just know that it's a mode of transportation that can't be beat.

Square Photo ❤

I had a very hard time deciding on what photo I should do for my square photo. I couldn't really think of anything until I thought about my grandpa's napkin holder. This holder is very special though. This came actually from Norway. One of my grandpa's friend's parents went to Norway one time and they found this just for grandpa. It really shows how much of a farmer my grandpa and my family can be.

Paper Relief Sculpture ❤

My teacher wanted me to create a sculpture made out of paper and put it on a flat surface. That is basically what a paper relief sculpture is. I have previously made a project that did involve with paper. That was my origami sculpture. For that one i made a ton of flower pedals, pasted them together to make flowers, and then pasting the flowers on a cardboard bottom. That project was very time consuming. I think that project was the project I spent the most of my time on. I think it took me about a week to make.
This time I decided to do something more simplistic. I asked my teacher if there any specific kind of paper we had to use. Thankfully she didn't have a preference. I have heard of this specific paper called "crepe paper." I'ts basically tissue paper but it's stronger. I decided I wanted to use that type of paper to make a rose. I tried to find it in stores but I couldn't find any in sheets. My solution to that was ebay! Thank goodness that they had crepe paper in sheets.
So after waiting a while to get the paper, I cut out tear drop and heart shapes out of the red paper. With the pedals, i used my hands to stretch out the paper so than it looked more like a pedal. I also curled the tops of them with a pencil. Then I used some tape to shape out the flower. After that I glued the flower onto a piece of paper. Then I took some green crepe paper to cut out leaves and glue them on. I then realized that it would be very boring if the background was white, so I painted the paper green so then it would resemble a rose bush.
I really like how simple this artwork is. It's also pretty cute. I might make more flowers just to decorate in my room c:

(Here is also a full view of the flower)

Art Meets Science ❤

This project is pretty unique because it involves with experimenting. As the title says "Art Meets Science" the project is basically using experimenting and using different techniques to create art. As you have known the past 10 months that I have had this blog, I love to paint. Painting has always been something that has helped me relax and is a special way to express myself. I wanted to do my project involving with paint. I also wanted to do something that would be fun and slightly messy. I then thought of bubbles. Then I thought if its possible to make paint bubbles.

What I first did was grab a small shallow dish and placed some paint in it. Then I added some soap and a little bit of water. Then I mixed it up using a plastic fork. At first I thought just mixing the solution would get me the big bubbles. However, I only get really small ones. Then I grabbed a plastic straw and blew into the straw to create the bubbles. Then I pressed my paper onto the bubbles and just popped them on the paper. As you can see, they leave this really cool bubble look on the paper.

After I added a few layers of color to the bubbles, I realized that the bubbles look kind of like flowers, so I painted leaves and stems on them. I did add water to the acrylic paint that I used so I could water it down and make the leaves and stems look subtle.

Overall this project turned out really cute and it was a lot of fun to do. It gave me the opportunity to act like a kid and play with bubbles! It also helped me get out of my comfort zone a little and experiment with other household items with art supplies.  Plus it created really cute flowers.  I think you can also tell that I have an obsession with flowers. The flower is by far one of my favorite things in the world.

Lightweight Photo ❤

Although dandelions are a weed, I personally think they are pretty.  They look so lightweight and gentle. I prefer dandelions to look puffy and white than when they are yellow. Just like other people I tend to blow on the dandelions and see the puffs fly off. I always love those photos of people doing those. I would love to have a picture of myself doing something like that. I find that to be very artistic in a way. I love how dandelions are very dainty and artistic because of how the flower can change from yellow to white. It's an simple and an amazing sight to see.

Spring Photo ❤

Behold, the beautiful lilac. A beautiful light purple flower shows its simplistic beauty. I personally think my favorite flower is the lilac. I have to wait every year for the lilacs to bloom. At my farm right next to my house, there is this beautiful lilac tree. It's my favorite tree in the entire world. Once it becomes spring, this tree starts to bloom with its delicate flowers and they spread their aroma of the floral lilac scent. Sometimes when I go outside, I instantly get hit with the scent of the lilacs. It always puts me in great awe and happiness. This lilac tree is one of the many things I love about spring.

What I Want To Be When I Grow Up Collage ❤

My teacher gave me the opportunity to take pictures and create a collage for the elementary kids based on what they wanted to be when they grow up. However, I couldn't do this project alone. I did this project with my friend Jena.

First we had to decide on what class we were going to choose when it came to taking pictures. We both decided to take pictures of a class of 4th graders. After deciding that, We contacted the teacher and made an appointment for when to come down the elementary.

We came up with the idea of having the kids in a group picture with a sign that said "What I Wanna Be When I Grow Up" with the class year. After that we used erase boards and marker to write down the kid's names of what they wanted to be when they grow up. We first started taking the picture on April 29th. Getting all the pictures took us about 3 days.

After we got all the pictures, we uploaded them onto the computer and made the collage. We first made 3 different collages and then added it to another pictures to create the overall collage. Overall I think the collage looks really cute. Jena and I had a lot of fun taking pictures of the kids and spending time together. There was a time when we went to take pictures and the lights were acting strange in the hall (they were flickering) and it terrified the both of us. Oh the silly memories we share haha.

Cropped Animal ❤

I will say this about this project: this gave me a new respect for the medium that I used. My teacher wanted me to make a drawing of a cropped animal on a sheet of paper and either use chalk or watercolor as the medium. This project made me a little nervous because of what animal to use and what medium to use. After a while of thinking, I decided to draw a cat. Finally, what medium did I use? I used watercolor.

I will admit this, I used to hate watercolor. To me it just looked super messy and unappealing whenever I did artwork with it. There was only one project that I liked that involved with watercolor and that was painting a boat on a lake. Other times I thought my artwork looked awkward. However, since I already used chalk in my philia project, I decided to give watercolor another shot.

First I drew out my cat. After that I focused using the watercolors to create a really cool looking eye. After that I started coloring the fur by using short light strokes. To smooth it out, I added more layering by adding darker colors and longer strokes. Then I mixed red and orange for the table and I made the background blue.

Like I said before, I have a new respect for watercolor now. This project showed me how watercolor can create such significant detail and texture to a drawing. It's very unique and special. I hope to someday work with watercolor again and see what else I can do.

Something Shiny Photo ❤

I knew that I had to take a picture of one of my necklaces for my something shiny photo. Something about necklaces is so charming. They are a simple piece of jewelry but can make a statement to a outfit. My favorite piece of jewelry is the necklace. One that I wear everyday is a cross one. However, this shiny necklace has a special place in my heart. This necklace was one my grandpa made for my grandma.

Yes, my grandpa made his own jewelry. He has made brooches, rings, and pendants. I remember having this necklace before my grandma passed away. I still miss her so much. It feels unreal that she's not on the Earth still. It will probably feel that way forever too. Another sad thing that happened is that my grandpa is currently at an assistant living because of his dyslexia. Its crazy how I never get to see them anymore. The only things I have left is their house and the jewelry they left behind.

I'm not sure what type of rock or jewel my grandpa used in this necklace, but to me its very gorgeous. It reminds of the beauty of light and darkness. To me this necklace resembles my grandparents, how they were such sweet people, and the sad things that happened made people sad, almost like going into the darkness. However, it still sparkles and shines, knowing that they are still in the hearts of many people.

Warm Fuzzies/ Cuteness Photo ❤

Yep, I have another picture of my cat on here. I can't help it, she's so cute! Plus when she's on my lap (which she is in this picture) she's super warm. She was being really adorable today. My dad went inside the house and Honey ran into the laundry room. My dad closed the door and told me she was in the laundry room waiting for me. However, I was busy handling ice cream since I wanted some. When I was getting the ice cream, she was crying like crazy the whole time. When I came into the living room she still cried because she wanted attention. I swear she is just so silly and cute.

Negative Space Photo ❤

I recently went to prom a few days ago. On the 8th of April, I spent all day decorating the high school gym and hall. It took my classmates and my art teacher about 10 hours to finish decorating. I will have to say it was a lot of fun to decorate. The theme for prom this year was rustic chic. Basically country.

One of the jobs I had to do was get water and give the pitcher of water to some one my classmates. They needed the water so the flowers wouldn't die in the mason jars. In the high school gym, the centerpiece was the gazebos. In the middle of one of them, one of them was a spool that had flowers all over it and some mason jars with flowers in the middle. The scattered flowers looked so beautiful that I had to take a picture. Then it occurred to me; I could take a negative space picture. So, at the right angle, I was able to take this picture. Personally, I think this picture looks really nice. Plus I love flowers. Flowers are my addiction.

Philia ❤

First fourth quarter project. Oh boy, I never knew the school year would go by so fast. It's crazy knowing in almost a month that I will be on Summer Vacation. Anyways, my teacher decided to make a competition for this art project and faced my class (Art 2) against the Art 3 class. It's kind of like something verses something. For this competition, it was Philia vs. Phobia. If you don't know what those mean, I'll give you a quick explanation. Phobia is the fear of something while philia is the love of something. Art 2 did the philia while Art 3 did the phobia.

How exactly did we pick our philia topic? In my teachers classroom she has a ton of cabinets and she wrote words of different philias on the front and the definition of the back and she taped individual posters to her cabinets word side on front. Then my teacher picked who goes first by birthdays. There were so many varieties of words. The word I chose was entomophilia, which is the love of insects. To be honest when I saw that word I knew what is was since entomology is the study of insects.

With my word picked out and 2 weeks to work on it, I had to decide what I was going to do. At first I was thinking of doing a painting of a butterfly on a flower. However, one of my friends helped with an idea of doing a drawing that most of it was in black and white and then the butterfly be in color so it could have the most attention. I loved that idea but I also love painting too, so it was hard for me to decide. Of course I went with the drawing idea.

What I did first was draw the hands and the butterfly. After that I shaded the hands and the background with black charcoal and colored the butterfly in chalk. I was very nervous for how it would look because I thought the hands looked sort of bad. In the end I thought it turned out alright. I also drew hands at a bigger scale which was something I wasn't used to. Sometimes it can be fun to get out of your comfort zone. It was also really fun to be up against the Art 3 class. I wonder who will win.

Texture Painting ❤

Spring is finally coming. The snow is melting and the plants want to grow again. The best part about the spring is that the flowers will start to come up! One of my favorite things in the world is a flower. They are just so beautiful. They bring a huge smile to my face. That's what inspired me to do this texture painting. Basically a texture painting is adding either plaster, clay, or even hot glue to make a canvas not have a smooth texture.

Like I said before spring was one of my inspirations for making this. Another one was Totoro! If you don't know who Totoro is, he a character in a movie called My Neighbor Totoro created by Studio Ghibli. I can't really tell you what the movie is about because I haven't watched it yet (but I will eventually). He was just way too adorable, so I had to paint him.

The first thing I did was prime my canvas with a sky blue color. After that I drew out the tree, and Totoro. After that I added some texture. I made the bark of the tree by making designs on it made out of hot glue. Then I painted Totoro and the tree. After that was painting the leaves of the tree. This was a little difficult for me because I had to paint it multiple times. I probably painted the leaves about 6 times into until I got the final product. Anyways I used a sponge to grab some green paint. Then I added some clay paste to some paint and used a palette knife to paint the leaves. Then I sponged on more colors of green until I was happy with the product. Then I added the little details like the flower, the squirrel nest, the butterfly and the fuzzy creatures.

I think this project is another one of my favorites. I loved how the tree turned out. I'm probably the most proud of that. I did get a little stressed out with this project, but I'm glad it turned out well in the end. I seriously can't believe that this is the last project for third quarter. Starting next Monday I will working on new projects and photos once again!

Mind Blowing Photoshop Project (Extra Credit) ❤

My teacher was offering extra credit if I did another Photoshop project. When it comes to me and extra credit, I always take it. What's wrong with boosting your grade up with some extra hard work? I wanted to do something that would look cool yet simple in a way. I ended up finding a technique on how to make a photo look like a coloring book page. To me it kind of looks like a coloring book page. I think this projects looks nice, but I prefer my actual project better.

Mind Blowing Photoshop Project ❤

Besides mediums such as drawing and painting, digital media is considered a type of art. You're able to create many masterpieces such as animations and even graphics such as this one. For this assignment, my teacher wanted me to use a past photo and use it to create a mind blowing picture using Photoshop.

Maybe you can tell by how I post my blogs, but I can be a procrastinator. Sometimes I work on other projects way too much because I'm such a perfectionist. Being a perfectionist can be a struggle when it comes to finishing project and photography and posting them. I didn't even know we had this assignment because I wasn't at school. However I didn't want to just make something that wasn't at its best potential, so I went to work on it at home (my teacher wanted me to do this assignment at home too)

First I research some techniques for Photoshop. One of them I ran into was making a picture look old and vintage. Then an idea came into my brain. I remembered when I was very little, that my great grandma lived right next door to me. Thinking of that reminded me of how old this land is. Somehow I connected that to my railroad track picture. I thought that would be perfect for this project!

I'm not really going to go into great detail on how I did it, but I will say that I had to make a lot of layers and changes. Some of those changes included some blurring, color change, and finding many pictures to make an old photo look realistic. It took me around 2-3 hours to make this project. I really like how it turned out. To be honest, I tend to really like old and vintage things. Something about them looks so classic and unique; almost nostalgic in a way.

Light Rays Photo ❤

This is a picture from January during the winter time. While in the car, I saw a sun dog! I thought it was so pretty that I had to take a picture of it! I thought it could also work for a light rays photo. If you wonder what a sun dog is, its basically a rainbow in the winter time. The sunlight goes through the ice crystals when it's really cold out. Its no fascinating how winter can be magical and create such wonderful things like the sun dog.

Shadow Photo ❤

To me there is something special about shadows. They're so mysterious because they appear when there is sun or a light. I guess you can say that's the beauty of a shadow. It's possible to take a nice photo that involves with only a shadow. It's tedious work, but its possible.

At first I was going to take a book and put a ring on it so the shadow can create a heart, but that didn't go so well. My dad gave me an idea of using one of my brothers huge nutcrackers, but it was a bit too big to capture in a photo. When I was looking around in the basement, I saw a little street light that was in the basement. Don't ask why we have one in the basement, we just do. When I saw the shadow of it, I realized I could take a picture of that. After taking about 6 photos, I found one that I liked. I really like how there is such detail into it and that it doesn't look like a blob.

I feel like there could be a deep meaning into this photo, but I don't know why. I just thought of this so maybe it could work. Even when times in life are dark like a shadow, there is still a light that will lead you to the right path.

Sports Photo ❤

This sport has a very special place in my heart. This is the first sport that I did when I first started cheer leading. That sport is, of course, basketball! I believe this picture is from the last regular game before regions started. To get the picture, I basically just sat on the bleachers with the crowd and took a lot of pictures until I got one that wasn't blurry. I thought this one was the best out of all of them. The boys are pretty good at basketball. This team here is junior varsity. I thought they were pretty good. The varsity boys are also really good too! I also cheer for the girls varsity too, they are pretty good as well.

I still remember the first game I cheered at. Last year I cheered for both JV and the Varsity girls team in my first game. I was so excited, but ended up a little sweaty and with hands that were red and cracked. Even through that though, I knew on that day that I loved cheer leading.

At my school, its very hard to get the crowed excited for the game, but after a lot of hard work, they are cheering along with us. It just takes time for progress to come. Even with all this hard work, I cheered for more basketball games this year than I did last year. This year I cheered for I think fifteen games, one of them being an away game. Last year I cheered for two games.

I had so much fun cheer leading this year. The memories will forever be in my heart. However, I have one more year I can do for cheer leading. Tryouts, here I come!

Leading Lines Photo ❤

I think you guys can obviously tell that I love nature. I can't help it. It's just so tranquil and nice. I have always preferred the country over the city because of nature itself. I would rather see myself seeing trees and the beautiful sky out my window instead of city buildings. In fact, this leading lines picture was taken close to my place. Yes I have to cross a railroad tack to get to my house.

While taking this picture I was driving home from school. I decided that today was the day. However, the roads were really muddy and I have to drive a little ways to take the picture. After taking the picture I went back to my car and I had to drive home with one hand on the wheel and the other one had my very dirty boots in it, haha.

Ceiling Tile ❤

This project has been something I have been very excited for for many years. I always saw such amazing works of art on the wall all over the school, even when I first started school. I knew for sure that I wanted to make one of those. Last year when I was in Art I, I asked my teacher when I can make a ceiling tile. She told me I can once I was in Art II. After years of waiting, I can finally show the world something I have been to do.

First, was what I wanted my tile to be. I had so many ideas in my head. I thought of doing Big Hero 6. I thought of Adventure time, and many others. In the end, I decided I wanted to do Dumbo. This reason is because I can relate very well to Dumbo. Because Dumbo had such big ear, he was made fun of. Somehow out of all the suffering he went through, everything turned out well for him in the end. If you knew me on a personal level, you would understand why I say that.

Once I got my idea, I went and drew out Dumbo and the Tree branch. After that I painted the sky and the tree. Next was painting Dumbo and Timothy Mouse. Then I drew and painted the crows and I wrote the font. After that (with the help of a friend) I put my ceiling tile up. I placed my tile in an area where I know the high schoolers, especially the underclassmen can see it. I wanted it to be a little reminder to someone who needs it. One reason I really wanted to draw is to make people smile with my passion for drawing and painting.

Overall I really love this ceiling tile. The only problem I have with it is the branch, I feel like it looks to fat. Other then that I really love it. I just hope it can make some underclassmen or anyone smile.

Quilling/Weaving Project ❤

For this project, I was able to decide on either do quilling or weaving. Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. When I thought of the idea of weaving, I was wondering if sewing or crocheting would count. I asked permission if I could crochet for my project, and my teacher said that was fine. Crocheting is a type of weaving after all. When I got the okay, I decided to make a stuffed crochet bear! I think you can also tell that I really like bears too.

Anyways, basically what I did was crochet the body and head (they were all in one piece), the ears, arms, legs, tail, and muzzle. I also had to stuff the body parts that needed stuffing. After I finished all that, I sewed on the black nose and mouth and sewed the bear together. Then I got some superglue to glue on the bear's eyes. Lastly, I found some ribbon and wrapped it around the bear's neck and made a bow.

I thought this turned out really cute! It was the very first time I actually made a stuffed animal before. I plan on making more in the future when I'm not busy.

Circle Photo ❤

For this project, my teacher wanted a photo that had a circle involved in it. One thing that came into my mind was a clock. To tell you the truth, my family made this clock. They like to make clocks out of old trees. The special thing about the clocks is that one is never exactly a like as another clock. I have multiple clocks that my family has made, and they are all different from each other, which gives these clocks more beauty and uniqueness. I honestly find that very fascinating.

Music Photo ❤

I really love music. To me, music is life. It's always there for me to relax my nerves and make me feel happy. Just listening to music can change my attitude instantly. Not only do I love listening to music, but I love playing it too. I sing, play clarinet (or I used to) and I play piano.

I have always loved the piano. The sound of the piano is just so graceful and lovely. It my heart race listening to a beautiful piano. I have played the piano since I was five years old. To be honest I don't remember how I got into piano, but I begged my mom constantly to take piano lessons. I remember I first started out playing on a keyboard which eventually led to the piano I have today.

I've now have been playing the piano for 12 years. To me that's very crazy yet amazing. However, my level at it is probably intermediate. I have entered into many piano contests before. I first started when I was nine. Basically all I had to do was memorize a song and perform it in front of judges. After that I look at my result to see where I ranked. From what I remember that is Superior, Good, and Poor. Out of all the times I went to contest, I got a perfect score on all of them except for one. One time when I was a freshman I had my contest at a different place, which was nice since it's a new experience for me. I was even able to play on a grand piano!

Sadly though, because I have been so busy with school and activities, I had to stop going to piano lessens this year. I was planning on going back to practice last month, but I got very busy. However, I am planning on going back to lessons as soon as I can, and even go to practice in the summer! I really miss going to piano, and I don't want to loose all my experience. The piano is a big piece of my childhood that will never be erased.

Triptych ❤

This project was a project that I liked, yet stressed me out like crazy. If your wondering what triptych is, it's basically a work of art that is divided into three sections.

I cannot tell you how much this project stressed me out. First I had to buy the canvases. Then after that I had to come up with ideas on what to paint. I had multiple ideas for this project. My first idea was the Up House in the sky, but I didn't know how I could stand all the canvases up. Because of that, I scratched the idea.

Then I wanted to do something Winnie the Pooh related, and I thought of doing parts of the Hundred Acre Wood map. I did work on that a little, but i didn't like how it looked so I started all over again. Finally I thought it would be cute to have Pooh with a bunch of honey pots.

When I got done drawing, I asked my mom how she thought of it. She thought it would look cute if I drew some shelves. After she gave me that idea, I decided to make the background look like the inside of Pooh's house. Before I really didn't like it because it looked way too dark. My mom even thought it looked creepy. I didn't start liking it until I colored the honey pots. After that I outlined everything in black.

I thought this project was pretty good, even if I spent about 7 hours working on it. After I was finished with it, I was exhausted and spent the rest of the night relaxing, which was much needed.

Winter Photo ❤

I'm sure you already know I love winter. Winter can be amazing to some people, and many people will just flat out hate it. One thing is really like about winter is how beautiful winter can be. The drag of it though is clearing roads and the slush that comes when spring is arriving.

My teacher wanted a photo that resembles winter. I have done many photos that involve with trees and the outside. This time I wanted to do something different. My dad came up with an amazing idea to take a picture of him plowing snow. I love the idea, so my dad and I decided to roll with it.

One day when I came home from school, my dad thought it would be a good time to take a picture of him snowplowing after a blizzard hit us. My dad did all the tricky stuff; getting the snow plow and getting it work. I just had to take pictures at the right time. I will have to say though that I took a ton.

After about maybe 20 pictures, I chose this one so then you could see how much snow my dad was plowing. You can also see the snow plow and a barn (yes I live on a farm). I really like how the snow looks sort of graceful and sort of like a tornado. I also like how blue the sky is in the picture. Even though I like spring too, I'm going to miss being in winter once it's gone for the year.

Abstract Photo ❤

Okay I have to admit something for this photo. I was originally going to use this picture for my ordinary to extraordinary photo, but my teacher thought this would be better for an abstract photo. It's perfect since you technically don't know what it is. First to start it off, it's a cupcake liner. All I did for this picture was find a cupcake liner took a picture of the side. I will have to say though that the lighting I did on this and how I zoomed in gave it a very cool design. I'm not even sure what it's suppose to look like, you can use your imagination on that one.

Beverage Photo ❤

For this photo, I had to take a picture of a beverage, and there was no way I was going to take a picture of a water bottle or a cup with water. It's obviously known that you can make desserts look like art, but what about a drink? It is possible of course, so I thought about doing something sweet. What drink could I do that was sweet? Sure there's hot chocolate, but I wanted to do something different. Plus, I was in the mood for something strawberry flavored. Then it came to me: a milkshake!

I asked my mom to get me strawberry ice cream and gladly she did. My dad then helped me make the milkshakes. I put in a whole box of strawberry ice cream, 2 cups of vanilla ice cream, 1/2 cup of milk, 9 tablespoons of strawberry Nesquik, and to make the milkshake more interesting, I added 1/4 bag of white cake mix. Basically I made a strawberry cupcake milkshake.

I wanted to use a really cute cup to put the milkshake in, so my mom took out one of her teacups from her wedding. After I put it in, I topped the milkshake with whipped cream and pink sprinkles. I also found this really cute potholder I made and I thought it would look cute with the cup.

Overall I really like the picture and the milkshake was really delicious! I would love to make this again.

Magazine Color Image ❤

Finally I am back to posting! I actually have quite a few stuff I need to post so a few are coming your way! Hope everyone is having a wonderful year so far!

Anyways, back to art related stuff. This time the assignment is using the color in magazines to create a picture. I had a few ideas in making this. I wanted to do something involving with either balloons or flowers. I decided that I would rather go with the flowers because they are just so beautiful. Besides a lot of people are probably waiting for spring to come even though its still winter (well for me it is).

While I was looking for ideas, I found a picture of a girl holding onto a flower. The picture has a lot more pattern than this did. However if I did add a ton of designs to this, it would probably take me all semester.

When I finished drawing the picture, I went searching for the magazines. My teacher has a big bin full of magazines. First I wanted to get the background covered. I wanted to do something classic, so I just went with a classic black. The key for this is to cut out big strips. When I found the pieces I glued them down to paper with a glue stick. After that I wanted to find yellow for the flowers. Then there was the skin. When I got done with the skin, It just turned out so creepy. My friends in art class made fun of me because it was so creepy. The main reason they teased me though was because I got the color from pictures of babies....please don't judge me!

After that I was going to color the hair. I didn't know what color to do for the hair. I thought of brown. My friend thought of blond. My teacher had the idea of doing really colorful hair. I really liked it so I went for it. Then I did the eyes, lips, and finishing details.

Overall I like it. It's not my favorite. I do like how there's like the creepy yet unique kind of vibe you can get from looking at it.
